Job description

We’re looking for an exceptional and innovative Commercial Counsel. You’ll have high levels of autonomy and ownership, collaborating across departments in a rapidly expanding health-tech company, reporting directly to the Head of Legal.


We need a strong all-rounder who wants to build out a fast growing business. You’ll leverage technology to manage negotiations, contracting and compliance at scale, delivering low-risk performance in a high-growth environment. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts, including medicinal product supply agreements, employment contracts, and commercial leases. We’re particularly interested in leveraging technology (including AI) to support these areas.

  • Developing and implementing best practices in contract management, tools, and templates.

  • Turning your hand to broader commercial work like M&A transactions and Employment Law.

  • Developing and maintaining standard terms and conditions for the company.

  • Handling Company Secretarial duties, including drafting board meeting minutes, consents and resolutions.

  • Managing Risk

  • Preparing insurance submissions for annual renewals and managing the group's insurance program.

  • Delivering in-house training on legal risks and significant legal and regulatory changes.

  • Project management, including coordinating with external counsel and consultants on company initiatives.

  • Providing advice on various day-to-day legal and business issues, including other commercial matters as they arise.

Job requirements

  • Experience:
    • Qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales.

    • At least 5 years of Post-Qualification Experience (preferably in-house or within a full-service law firm).

    • Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry.

  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong skills in drafting and reviewing contractual documents and related legal knowledge.

    • Ability to influence and navigate challenging situations.

    • Pragmatic, commercially minded approach to legal problem solving.

    • Interest in leveraging technology to deliver scalable legal solutions for the business.

    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust at all levels.

    • Capacity to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and delivering results under pressure.
