What you will do

Manage and Scale our Infrastructure

  • Manage our AWS and Vercel infrastructure and automate infrastructure deployment using IaC (Terraform)

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve the performance, reliability and security of our web apps, backend services and datastores

  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to track the performance and health of the infrastructure

  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and deployment issues, and partnering with engineering teams on the quick resolution

  • Drive the definition of SLO targets and SLA monitoring per service or service tier

  • Maintain security best practices, security compliance across our cloud infrastructure


Bring in continuous deployment practices

  • Oversee and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to ensure smooth deployment processes and improved developer productivity

  • Support and improve various production, staging and development environments

  • Develop tools to effectively monitor and troubleshoot heterogeneous application stacks and critical infrastructure

  • Advocate for and implement DevOps best practices, enhancing the efficiency and quality of our development processes.

Job requirements

What we need from you

  • At least 4 years of commercial experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or related fields

  • Experience working in a startup environment with small cross-functional teams

  • Expertise in AWS cloud services (ECS, RDS, WAF, etc.) or GCP/Azure equivalents

  • Practical experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred) and some programming/scripting language

  • Practical experience with CI/CD best practices and tools (GitHub Actions preferred)

  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring best practices

  • Familiarity with performance optimization and cost-saving strategies for cloud infrastructure

  • Great verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple way to non-engineering teammates

  • Ability to zoom in and out - be comfortable with getting into the relevant low-level details while also making the optimal tradeoffs for achieving the “big picture” goals.


Other skills you might have

  • Practical experience with building scalable & highly reliable cloud systems that support product used by millions of users around the world 24/7

  • Experience with implementing and continuously improving a monorepo based build system

  • Familiarity with frontend/backend technologies

  • A degree in CS or equivalent is a plus
