Job description

We are looking to hire an IT Operations Associate to join our team here at MANUAL!

This is a 3 month FTC which will be office-based (5 days per week on site), ideal for someone early in their IT career who is eager to learn and contribute to a fast-growing healthtech company. You’ll play a crucial role in managing IT hardware, supporting system administration, and assisting with key projects, including an upcoming office move.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Office Move Support:

  • Work closely with the IT Manager to assist with the technical aspects of the office move.

  • Ensure proper setup and relocation of IT hardware, including laptops, peripherals, and other network equipment.

  • Test systems and connectivity post-move to minimise disruption to business operations.

Hardware/Device Management:

  • Dispatch, receive, and maintain laptops and other IT equipment for employees.

  • Ensure all hardware is set up, configured correctly, and securely wiped when needed.

  • Help maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and assist with hardware audits.

Software and System Support:

  • Assist in configuring and managing devices using Microsoft Intune.

  • Help monitor and maintain our antivirus solution to ensure robust endpoint security.

  • Support end users with Google Workspace, including account setup and troubleshooting.

IT Administration:

  • Provide first-line technical support to office-based and remote employees.

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with data protection regulations.

  • Document IT systems, configurations, and processes for internal use.

Collaboration and Flexibility:

  • Support the IT Manager with ongoing and ad hoc projects.

  • Respond promptly to day-to-day IT requests from employees and be the face of IT

Work in a team environment

  • You’ll work with all teams across the business

  • You’ll communicate your ideas and plan your work

  • You’ll review your work with senior functional team leads

Job requirements

  • You have experience in an IT support or system administration role, we are open to entry-level candidates looking for their first role

  • You’re looking to develop your skills further as part of an in house team

  • You have a genuine enthusiasm for working with IT systems, ensuring they run effectively and securely, and take no greater pleasure than finding the right solution to the problem at hand

  • The idea of working in a successful startup in a fast paced role excites you

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for device management, Antivirus solutions for endpoint security and  Google Workspace administration and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with endpoint detection and response

  • A basic understanding of IT security and data protection principles

  • A basic understanding of frameworks such as Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, NHS DSPT

  • Familiarity with administration of modern SaaS systems

  • Experience with supporting end users of systems, both on Windows and Mac

  • A strong desire to learn and to contribute to the team’s work


Other skills you might have

  • Degree, HND or equivalent certifications in any IT related subject is a plus

  • Experience administering a cloud first IT setup

  • Understanding and how to work with RESTful APIs

  • Experience working in cross functional teams
