THE ROLE

We are the leading UK digital provider for medicated weight loss. Our mission is to support people with obesity to end the cycle of weight loss and regain, by equipping them with the tools, support and confidence to build a healthy lifestyle. Our program pairs GLP-1 medication with a behaviour change program, coaching and clinical support. We want to impact the lives of millions of people living with obesity, and transform their health and wellbeing.


We are looking for a doctor with a special interest in Obesity, in the early part of their career, to join us as the Medical Lead for Obesity.


The ideal candidate is someone who is ambitious and up for the challenge of scaling and driving exponential growth across our weight loss service. This would involve leading the operational part of weight loss and being accountable for the medial aspects of the category; driving clinical outcomes, providing medical leadership for the weight loss coaches, working closely with the clinical, product and category manager. Additionally, our Medial Lead for Obesity will liaise closely with our Lead Dietician, Head of Behavioural Change, Clinical Psychologist and Medical Director of Obesity to build a world-class programme to help people with obesity lose weight and keep it off for good.


You’ll grow, develop and lead our in-house, weight loss clinical team ensuring the delivery of class-leading services. In addition, you will work closely with other teams, such as digital product, regulatory, pharmacy, commercial and marketing, to deliver our clinical growth strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will lead the operational and clinical parts of the weight loss category at MANUAL,

  • Manage the weight loss clinical team day to day, and be their 1st point of contact for clinical or operational queries,

  • Implement and measure the quality of MANUAL’s weight loss clinical service by tracking performance metrics and reporting progress,

  • Own all the weight loss clinical pathways including standard operating procedures and ways of working,

  • Help communicate the weight loss clinical service success to the wider company and advocate for clinical service priorities with other teams (e.g. product, data etc.)

Job requirements

MUST HAVE

  • You are a doctor with a special interest in Obesity, having completed UK Foundation Training (or equivalent)

  • You are currently registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise in the UK,

  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills,

  • You enjoy working and inspiring a team, and are comfortable delegating tasks with clear briefs,

  • You can demonstrate your love of solving hard problems and continuous learning

DESIRABLE

  • You have previous digital health, commercial or startup experience, managing multiple projects, complex priorities and different stakeholders (CEO, product, marketing, clinical teams etc.)

  • You understand what it takes to run an outstanding clinical operation, including project management, setting objectives and tracking key metrics,

  • Additional clinical interests in: Weight loss, Endocrinology, Mental Health, Lifestyle Medicine, Clinical Research
